The Ryan Seacrest Diet
I have been thoroughly enjoying and encouraged by a loyal base of blog visitors and fans. There is a unique and highly motivating running/fitness community on WordPress that I feel priviledged to be in communication with. It is for these reasons that I have come to a decision to reach a new height of vulnerability with my readers. I have an admission to make. I follow the Ryan Seacrest diet. *wincing, cringing, flushed*
Now that you’re done with your explosion of laughter at my expense, allow me to give some perspective in my own defense. I’ve never followed a real diet, just worked out a lot and then when I feel weight gain, I try to cut back a little. Simple enough. I do, however, have a real weakness for food and especially junk food and Coca-Cola. Mmmm. There has never been a diet advertisement that i’ve ever paid much attention to or been curious about until one day the local radio station morning show DJs were joking about Ryan Seacrest and mentioned his diet philosophy. Ryan Seacrest apparently used to be overweight and to shed pounds, and more importantly, to stay his trim Idol hosting self, he stays strict through the week and then lets himself eat whatever and whenever on the weekends. For some reason, this approach has really stuck in my mind. I like it. I can do it. It’s a balance of discipline with regular allowances. So there you have it – if there’s a diet out there for me, randomly enough, it’s the Ryan Seacrest diet.
